Louisiana

Why would a 1977 tab be here? Because, in 1976, Louisiana switched registration systems. They began issuing tabs for the older 74/75 base plate (see below) that showed the plate expired in 1977. You won't find a 1976 anywhere on a 1976 Louisiana passenger plate. The two different types of the 77 stickers are shown--with and without serial numbers.

The 7 digit plate on the left with the sticker without a serial number was issued in State Trooper Area G which included the following parishes: Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, De Soto, Red River and Webster. On the right, the 6 digit plate with the serial sticker was issued in State Trooper Area L which included the following parishes: St. Helena, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington.
