"For those of you who are interested in the forged
decals that I seize, here is a story about the dopey guy I caught Saturday
night. (6/23/01) Car insurance in B.C. is mandatory and the basic
insurance can only be bought through I.C.B.C. To prove that you have
both your annual registration fee and insurance they issue a decal that
goes onto your rear plate. Very often these decals are stolen to
get free insurance. This clown, however, made his own decal on the computer
and printed it up. It took him four tries before he was satisfied
with the colour (Why he glued all 4 decals onto his plate, we'll never
know). He ended up with tickets for no insurance $575, no registration
$86, and a tow bill $60 (that's $473.52 U.S., 335.26 Pounds, or 552.82
Euros). He probably used $10 worth of ink too!"
